The man in the picture, in his early 40's, has been a victim of the abuse of drugs for the past 30 years. Following the same routine each day, hope of a better life diminishes every minute. The life of the ordinary person in South Africa's Cape Flats is riddled with struggles against drugs, crime and poverty. The majority of people living here often refer to themselves as the 'Forgotten Ones', after the end of apartheid, freedom from oppression never seemed any closer. What can be done to alleviate the struggles of the many millions of people that share the same land as the privileged few? Are we making a conscious effort to make a difference, or are we relying on 'appointed' leaders - blaming them for the lack of change.
Change starts with us, change is possible.
